Close the door on stress
13 de May, 2019
Did you arrive at the office tired from the traffic? Or did the rush of leaving home ruin your day? No, maybe it was the email or call you received with a last-minute problem at work… In any case, in this text we’re going to try to put an end to the “stress“, would you like to help us?
“What stress!” The expression is increasingly common and, throughout the day, we both hear it and say it several times. In rush hour traffic, at work and even at home, the word “stress” is always present.
What’s worse is that, although it’s often undervalued, it can actually lead to more serious problems.
At European level, it is estimated that stress affects around 22% of workers every year. This puts it in second place as the biggest cause of work-related illness. But what makes us so stressed at work? Lack of motivation, overwork and collaboration between colleagues are among the most common answers.
Does the company have a solution?
Once you’ve detected the problem, it’s time to start solving it. Take a deep breath, count to 10, and start changing some habits now. If you have a company, have you ever thought that it’s time to make some benefits available to your employees? What if we told you that this is one of the best ways to increase the motivation of your teams? At Edenred, we have the ideal solution for you and, what’s more, it’s tailored to your needs. From Euroticket Refeição to Euroticket Creche or Euroticket Estudante, we have a range of benefits and incentives that can help reduce your employees’ stress and leave them more motivated. Promoting a balance between your employees’ personal and professional lives and encouraging sport are also excellent options. In fact, have you thought about including gymnastics in your list of initiatives?
What can I do as a collaborator?
It is up to the employee to find strategies to reduce daily stress. Both in the workplace and personally. To help you, we’ve put together some simple suggestions that you can include in your routine right now:
– Take advantage of your lunch break to replenish your energy and respect the break times throughout the day. Taking your eyes off your work for a few minutes won’t slow you down; on the contrary, it will make you more focused and calm.
– Have you tried listening to music while you work? Put on your headphones, choose a song that relaxes you and say goodbye to stress for a while. – If you haven’t gone on vacation yet this year, it’s time to open your calendar and think about it.
– Take your vacation within the time limit set by law. To feel more motivated and interested in your work, it’s important to be able to disconnect from it from time to time.
These are just a few suggestions, but there is much more you can do for your health. Don’t let stress consume you and, today, when you get home, start by locking your door. At least for one day, don’t let it into your life.
Starting from July 2023, the Euroticket Refeição benefit has been renamed Edenred Refeição.
